This post will highlight our heart for missions and our appenticeship in Africa, we are dedicating a year to support local communities and engage in meaningful service while learning alongside dedicated missionaries, to glean from them and their ministry. Our mission is not just about serving; it is about learning, connecting, and growing alongside the people we aim to help. This blog post and more to come wil share our journey, highlighting the way God has directed our path, the lessons we have learned, and the next steps as God directs our path as we pursue full time mission work.

The Call to Adventure
Every great adventure begins with a call. For us, that call came in the form of a desire to make a difference. we have been inspired by stories of missionaries and pastors who have dedicated their life to the Lord, and we felt a deep call to contribute to the work that God is doing for His kingdom.
Why Africa?
Africa is a country rich in culture and natural beauty, yet it faces significant challenges, including poverty, limited access to education, and healthcare issues. We feel burdened for Africa because of this... We also have the opportunity to serve God in a different context, we have been in the states our entire life and have never fully broadened our understanding of what God is doing and what He can do in another country. We want to immerse ourselves in the local culture, understand the needs of the community, and offer support in a meaningful way. Then, taking this knowledge and applying it to our future plans in missions.
Preparing for the Journey
Preparation for such a significant mission is crucial. We have spent considerable time praying over our ministry and will continue to train and prepare for this journey not only physically by understanding the specific ministry we are coming alongside of, but also spiritually by preparing our hearts as we launch out into Africa. We have connected with local ministries that we will be investing in, and have connected with missionaries who we can learn from and sit under.
What are we doing?
We have three goals that we are pursuing during this apprenticeship in Africa:
Exposure
Through the apprenticeship we want to truly learn from masters of their craft. We hope to develop a deeper understanding of missions, cultural adaptability, and overall ministry as we serve under the missionaries mentorship. We understand that serving in missions is no small feat, so we want to be as prepared as possible to do what the Lord has called us to do!
Effectiveness
We also want to be useful! not just another body hanging around, but available to serve well as we spend our time in Africa. Our desire is to be as 2 Timothy 2:20-21 describes; a vessel of honor, useful to the master, ready for every good work.
Clarity
Through the apprenticeship we are also praying for further clarity as to where God is calling us for full-time work in the future. We want to be sensative to the Lords leading in our ministry. We believe that God gets to make that call and we simply want to be found faithful to answer it.
Support raising
To support our mission, we will need the funding for flights and our stay, as well as other costs. This does not deter us or bring any anxiety, because we know that the Lord is good, Jehovah Jireh. As we raise support for this trip we covet your prayers, not only that we reach our financial goals, but that we can fully depend on The Lord for our physical needs.
Reflecting on the Experience
As our year in Africa comes to an end, we plan to take time to reflect on our journey. Taking the time to evaluate our time in Africa and how we can continue to develop our ministry. We hope to leave Africa with a greater understanding of global missions and a platform to launch our own ministry, and to do so in a way that ulitimately furthers the Gospel and glorifies God.
Moving Forward
Our next steps at the moment are figuring out some of the menial details and filling out paperwork and documents (the fun stuff). In this process we are having to make huge shifts in our life, beggining to think about where to store our stuff, getting all of the logistical information with travel and visas... these things are all working together for us to accomplish our goals.
How You Can Help
If you feel inspired by our plans and ministry, here are some ways you can support us:
Prayer: Consider praying for us and our ministry, we desire your prayers and support as we embark on this journey.
Support financially: Financial contributions can make a significant impact. While we know that the Lord provides for us, we also know that God uses people like you and me to accomplish His will. Would you pray about joining our team in this way?
Encouragement: As we begin to share more of our story please dont hesitate to reach out! We would love to share more and even hear what God has been doing in your life. If you need prayer or want to share what God has laid on your heart, please reach out to us, as we would love to rejoice with you and lift you up to the Lord.
Thank you
As you reflect on our story, consider how you can take action in your own community or support those in need around the world. Every effort counts, and together as the church, we can have deep eternal impact on those around us.
